Everything people ask.
If yours is not here, ask us and we will add it. Nothing on this page is a trick answer.
01The preview
Before you send anything
The questions that come up before anybody has committed to a thing.
Do I pay before seeing the website?
No. We create a private website preview first. You can review it before deciding whether to proceed.
Is this a self-build website service?
No. We design, structure and prepare the website for you.
Why pay for a professional when I can use a self-build?
It is like making a cake. A self-build website hands you the ingredients and the instructions. Does that make you a skilled baker? These are eight things a professional brings to building a website that no self-build tool, even with AI, can replicate:
- 01An independent perspective on your business.
- 02Market expertise that no self-build tool can replicate.
- 03A commercial view of your website against the marketplace.
- 04Client attractiveness and customer philosophy in your sector.
- 05Market differentiation experience and expertise.
- 06Know-how of what works and what does not in your sector.
- 07An objective challenge from a customer's viewpoint.
- 08Commercial and editorial judgement that makes a difference.
How quickly will I see my preview?
Your private preview is normally ready within 7 days of receiving your details, often sooner. We confirm the timescale when you get in touch.
Is the preview publicly visible?
No. Your preview is private and will not become your live business website unless you approve it.
Can I request changes?
Yes. Tell us anything you would like changed and we will update the preview. Nothing goes live, and nothing is paid, until you are happy to approve it.
What information do you need?
We normally need your business name, services, location, telephone number, email address, opening hours and any photographs or branding you would like us to use.
What if I do not like it?
Then you do not take it, and you owe nothing. That is the whole point of building it first.
02The price
What it costs, and what that covers
The questions people check before agreeing to anything monthly.
Is the £20 an introductory rate?
No. It is our standard price for the Brochure Upgrade and it does not climb after a period. If our costs ever changed we would tell you before anything did.
What is included at £20 a month?
The website built for you, UK hosting, SSL security, domain registration or connection, a mobile-friendly design, your business and service pages, an enquiry form, search-friendly setup, technical launch and routine maintenance.
What is not included?
Optional extras, like booking, ecommerce and business email beyond the addresses listed, are priced separately, because most businesses do not need them and should not be paying for them.
Is there a contract or a minimum term?
There is an initial 12-month term. After that, it is 30 days' notice to cancel.
What happens to my domain if I leave?
We will be sad to see you leave, but we will arrange the transfer of your domain to your new provider.
03Working with us
How it actually runs
What day-to-day looks like once the website is live.
Who makes changes to my website?
We do. Message us with what you want changed, be it new prices, new photos or a new phone number, and we will do it. There is no editor for you to learn.
How many changes can I ask for?
Routine changes are part of the monthly price. If something turns into a substantial rebuild we will say so before doing it, rather than after.
Do you work with my trade?
Almost certainly. The studio has builds for plumbing, salons, construction, garages, grooming, accountancy and venues, and the approach is the same whatever the trade. If yours is not there, tell us and we will build one.
Who owns the website?
All the information you provide remains yours. The know-how, the special layout and language we deploy, and the platform it runs on, are ours.
