How to point your domain to us
If you'd rather keep your domain registered where it is, you don't have to transfer it. You can leave it with your current provider and simply point it to us by changing its nameservers. Your domain stays exactly where it is, and your website is served from our setup instead.

Transfer, or point? Which is which
There are two ways to bring your domain to us, and you only need one of them.
Transferring moves the domain itself to us, so everything is managed in one place. Pointing leaves the domain with your current provider and just directs it to us. Pointing is quicker and changes less, so it's often the easier option. If you're not sure, tell us your setup and we'll recommend the right one.
1. Log in to your domain provider
Log in to the company your domain is registered with. This may be:
- Wix
- Squarespace
- WordPress
- GoDaddy
- IONOS
- Namecheap
- Another domain provider
Look for a section called Domains, DNS, Nameservers or Domain Settings.
2. Find your nameserver settings
Open the settings for your domain and look for an option called Nameservers, DNS or Manage DNS.
You may see this described as 'Use custom nameservers' or 'Change nameservers'.
3. Enter the nameservers we give you
We'll send you the nameservers to use. The exact ones depend on your package, so wait for us to give you yours rather than copying them from anywhere else.
Remove the existing nameservers, enter the ones we provide, and save.
4. Tell us once it's done
Let us know when you've saved the change. Nameserver changes can take a few hours to take effect, and occasionally up to a day or two.
We'll confirm once your domain is pointing to us correctly.
Using your domain for email?
This one matters. Changing your nameservers moves your DNS to us, which can affect email that uses your domain.
If you send or receive email using your domain, tell us before you change anything so we can make sure your email keeps working.
Prefer to change as little as possible?
If you'd rather not change your nameservers at all, we can often point just your website to us by updating a single DNS record, leaving the rest of your setup untouched.
